Pacha Mama, the supreme goddess was honored by the aboriginal Inca people who used to inhabit northwestern Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. Pacha mama is considered the mother (Mama) who begets life, nourishes and protects. Her name is popularly translated as "Mother Earth" (Pacha=Earth and Mama=Mother), although the archaic meaning of "Pacha" not only refers to the earth, but to the universe and time. She is everything that exists as it was Gaia for the ancient Greeks, Tonantzin for Mexicans, Anat in Mesopotamia and Al-Lat in the current Arab countries (including female deities with similar attributes).
